The role of the Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) is to use the knowledge of biomechanics and skills of orthopedic evaluation to identify the source of pain or dysfunction within an exercise routine. Many people will experience pain or a plateau in their training program. At Atlas Fitness, we want to incorporate the total wellness experience by adding a healthcare oriented approach to fitness, ensuring maximum results in your training.

Athletic Trainer Kevin Reilly

Born into a military family, Kevin moved around the United States and internationally before attending school in Virginia and then settling down in DC. After graduating from East Carolina University (Masters of Athletic Training – M.A.T.) and James Madison University (B.S.), he went to work in the traditional athletic training settings working with athletes of all ages and skill level. While working in a hospital setting, he found that the biggest impact could be made by applying strength and conditioning principles to an active rehabilitation population post physical therapy. All too often, people become hesitant or resistant to exercise after experiencing an injury or medical setback. Kevin has experience designing exercise programs for individuals with various orthopedic and medical conditions, such as injury, asthma, diabetes, cardiac disorders and obesity.

 

Personalized Athletic Training Session

Duration: 60 Minutes

Personalized session with the Atlas Certified Athletic Trainer to focus on developing strength, endurance, flexibility and / or mobility needed to accelerate your fitness. Can be customized to replace a workout if the client is experiencing pain or disability. Session may include injury prevention screening, orthopedic assessment, therapeutic exercise, manual therapy or biomechanics analysis of movement patterns.

Manual Therapy

Duration: 30 Minutes

Manual therapy is a hands-on approach to loosen up muscles or joints which can help establish mobility and function to gain the most from your workout. Intended for individuals that do need guided exercise prescription or who just want a quick tune up before a training session. This treatment would be most effective when utilized prior to a class or workout.
